COLLECTIVE PHILANTHROPY PROJECT (CPP) SEARCH LAUNCH
The Union of North American Vietnamese Student Associations is proud to announce the search for the 8th beneficiary of the Collective Philanthropy Project. UNAVSA would like to extend an invitation to non-profits with 501 status or the Canadian equivalent furthering the Vietnamese American or Vietnamese global community to apply to become the CPP funding beneficiary for a specific project for 2012-2013.
UNAVSA is 501(c)(3) non-profit, nonpartisan, community-based organization, founded in 2004 consisting of leaders of Vietnamese Student Associations (VSAs) across North America, regional umbrella Vietnamese youth organizations, and young professionals.
The CPP is an initiative created in 2004 for Vietnamese-American student and community organizations to collaborate toward a charitable cause. The idea was to create momentum for a national effort under a unified philanthropic campaign while furthering UNAVSA’s mission of developing leaders and regional communities, networking and creating a unifying voice across the continent. The success of the first CPP campaign has been recreated annually to the benefit of six different organizations.
Each year, the top three candidates are asked to present their projects at UNAVSA national conference. After the attendees vote, a beneficiary is announced at the conference banquet. In years past, CPP has worked with organizations such as VietAct, The Catalyst Foundation, the VOICE, Viet Hope, Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation, Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation and has raised a combined $230,000 over the last six years.
The application process to become the beneficiary for the 2012-2013 year is now officially open. Please join us in inviting organizations across the continent to submit an application and project proposal.
